OK, congratulations you're chugging along toward Niagara Falls.
This next clue is part history: I am hoping you have heard of the Erie Canal.
Either way here are some quick facts:
completed in 1825
the Erie Canal links Lake Erie to the west
to the Hudson River to the east.
It basically connects the Great Lakes to the Atlantic Ocean.
Today it's mostly a recreational canal.
Now here is the neat part of history you will get to see--
Lock #25.
Lake Erie is 568 feet HIGHER than the Hudson River so a series of 83 locks allowed boats to make the trip without waterfalls getting in the way!
Here is a 1 minute Youtube video telling you how a lock works. Watch it if you want to be smarter than you are now.
Enter this address into your maps app:
Lock 25
Mays Point Road
Seneca Falls, NY
13148
It's a 10 minute drive, grab lunch at the Nice and Easy Grocery and eat it picnic style on the grass near the Lock. (since I've never visited this lock you are scouting this out for me, so... I hope you can actually see it and sit on the grass near it)
